We are again focusing on the 14th Amendment of the Bill of Rights. Given that it was ratified in 1868, you can imagine the forces that were dominant as this Amendment was ratified.
The 14th Amendment addresses: the definition of citizenship; the obligation of the states to uphold the privileges and immunities of United States citizens; due process; the obligation of the states not to deny ‘the equal protections of the laws’; how representation in Congress is calculated; disqualification from holding office; and denial of any obligation to compensate former slave owners for the emancipation of their slaves. It was ratified in 1868.
We believe that We the People are the source of the new United States of America. As we unpack each Amendment we are looking at current times, and the times during which this amendment was passed. We write Creation Exercises to expand our dreams for the future. In these writings, we can revitalize this document so that it’s frequency impacts us all newly.
What do the amendments of the Bill of Rights mean to you? it’s critical that we each hold these phrases in our gut and our hearts. Let’s write together to strengthen those phrases in the matrix of FOTM and the world.
We will discuss current events in light of these Amendments. Individually, we can unpack these phrases using Templates 3, 4 or 6.
