Perception and Sentient Intelligence
by Sahere Hum
We use the word perception all the time, and what exactly does that mean? A perception is the neural process of how we become not only aware of the world around us, but it is also how we interpret the world around us, which we do through our senses, our sentient intelligence. All of our perceptions of the world came first from our sentient intelligence, and then it becomes mental, embedded in our neural pathways.
Take a walk with me back into time….. to the time before you started writing Creation Exercises. What did your reality, the world around you, look like? Now travel ahead to your present time. Does your world look the same? In many ways, the world around you may look the same, only something is different. Are your perceptions about your world different? Are you possibly seeing your glass half full where you use to see it half empty? When your body is experiencing the same symptoms as what you would have called a cold, do you think is it something you caught from someone else or are you possibly holding the perception that your physical body is clearing out what is no longer needed?
What changed your perceptions? Your perceptions, your sentient intelligence, arises out of experiences and experiences have no language. An experience is the metapoint between the spirit and flesh.
As you write your Creation Exercises you use your sentient intelligence to find the resonant words, or to touch into what you are observing in the moment. Have you ever experienced that as you are writing an exercise you no longer feeling the same way as when you began the exercise? You are building and strengthening how to be in the metapoint of spirit and flesh, your direct link with Creation. When you have an experience, you are connecting into the language that Creation uses to communicate with you. As you experience this communication, how you perceive the world around you changes and therefore your perception of the world around you begins to shift.
For me personally, I can have all the historic mental knowledge about something (from books, others ideas), and it is not until I can experience something with my sentient intelligence, do I feel like I’ve got it in my bones, which then begins to shift my perceptions.
For several years now I have had the perception that I operate as a system and there are many different aspects to this system. I was on a call with Tantra the other day and she happened to be talking about ‘a mind’. I don’t know why it pinged me, but the word ‘a’ in front of the word ‘mind’ grabbed my attention. I became present to experiencing ‘a mind’ of something. All of a sudden I opened up into my system becoming more animated and alive. I could sense movement and activity. I opened up into having – my system is ‘a mind’. I then shared with Tantra what I had opened up into having and as she was commenting, she said something about ‘an eternal mind’. Once again, I experienced traveling out into more territory and was present to ‘a mind of the eternal’ that was a part of my operating system. This had me have a sense of being eternal, a mind that is always there even when my physical body is no longer here. My perception of my system totally shifted in that half hour. My perception changed because I experienced something. That experience lived within my sentient intelligence first and then my mind looked for words for what I had experienced, which could then change my perception about my system. My ‘knowing’ about my system had increased.
Why those words that Tantra spoke, and why that moment in time? I have no idea. What if, it was just the fundamental element of ‘Magic’ that lives in all of our lives and that we are beginning to remember the magic as we move into the next greater whole?
