Last month we began looking at how the Language of Creation Templates work therapeutically. To review, I reminded you 1) I’m using psychological terms for phenomenon that are just as real in other paradigms with their own terminologies to distinguish elements which are less evident with other language bases; and 2) the templates are based in a different paradigm of reality, with a different access to how you know what you know or become present to.
Since we’ve all been working together with Tantra and these templates awhile, I’m not going to review elements of the system we were born into which are bankrupt. We all came to use the templates to overcome distresses and dysfunctions of knowing redacted experience of self is not real, nor is disconnection from authentic self-expression, purpose/contribution, or ability to connect in unity with others. From here I can begin to open you up into how the templates produce psychological, even therapeutic change. Just know that in my world, psychological or therapeutic change includes whole system transformation, which is also an integral aspect of the templates.
The first step of this change comes from being re-connected to our original natures, to Creation, the universe, the greater whole of which we are all a part, by asking us to crave. Craving weaves us back into the most primal forces of life. Each seed or building block of life is attracted to, even seeks, that which activates it into forming more complex expressions of life. This is true of every chemical reaction, biological process, emotional maturity, and more. Thus, the first word of every template requires us to calibrate to that most primal activation of becoming: craving. What we put into the blank after the word ‘craving’ is, in effect, what catalyzes a progression of life, just like the sun engages the seed to grow into what it is meant to be. Most importantly, however, the act of craving unites us with the greater whole of which we are a part.
Resonance is the second step of the path. We are instructed to fill in the rest of the blanks with a resonant word or phrase, aligning with harmony, calm, beauty or life-affirming energies. Most of us have a visceral relationship to resonance, but maybe not a conscious connection at first. It is not a thread of life we are taught to recognize, articulate and design from in modern Western society. Filling in the blanks with resonant phrases and words calms the system, shifting your being out of any vestige of fight or flight resulting from daily stressors. By definition, what’s authentic and life-affirming to your system begins to come into focus, what isn’t is excluded. Thus, an entirely different relationship to self and life becomes present. That’s a more philosophical way to say that for the duration of writing the template at first, then for longer times in between writing templates, the brain is literally changed. Different neural pathways are utilized for what’s described here versus those used in the system we were born into. Through continual use of the templates, these neural pathways become more accessible and then stable, giving you choices of how to perceive and interact with your world. At this point, you have begun to change your brain (neuroplasticity), making more mind (consciousness and intelligence) available with which to comprehend and engage with your self and your life. It is a paradigm change, a renewing of your mind, making much more of your being available. This then permits increases in awareness and comprehension of your authentic nature and relationships with various components of your life. Changes in articulation (all forms of expression, not just words) and choices for participation (i.e. responding) in life become available more than reacting to or being dominated by life. This can occur gradually or in more quantum leaps.
Those are broad statements, encompassing a host of changes which count as psychological or therapeutic change. Take some time to steep in what I describe here. Get a feel for how resonance has a real ripple effect in your life, by removing you from the fight/flight habits of the paradigm we were born into, by putting you back in touch with alternative rhythms of living/experiencing, opening you up into additional content of life to register, and by putting you in a position of experiencing through the filters of what is life affirming. How does this change your view of yourself, your needs/wants, your relationship to circumstances to have the rules of the template prescribe viewing everything through resonant, life-affirming terms only? How does this affect your view of others and the world around you? Some have expressed the difference as living in the world but no longer being of the system we were born into. Imagine that someone who may be constantly hypervigilant or hypersensitive after a traumatic stress could begin to experience their environment as safe again, as the use of resonance calms the system, permitting a non-trauma-dictated orientation to begin to dictate a person’s daily experience of life. Imagine someone dominated by depression having access to thought processes governed by resonance, becoming in synch with the spiral nature of life and principles of creation again. These are some examples which can be imagined at this point as potential therapeutic outcomes.
Thinking with resonance as called for when writing the templates takes practice for most of us, much like learning your alphabet and how to read or write takes practice as a child, because there are many layers of brain-being activity occurring simultaneously. For now, steep in the marvel of how you can take these steps to open yourself up into so much more of who you are as a human being, how much control you have over literally changing your brain and choosing your paradigm of existence. In part 3, we will explore how moving with resonance also has you be present to trusting yourself, activating additional intelligences, and shifting your identity as the next exploration of how these templates have constructive psychological impact.
