Curiosity
by Liz Geyer
We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” -Walt Disney
Walt Disney was a man before his time. He was forever stepping way out in front, down new paths of curiosity to create magic. He was a visionary, and such an amazing imaginer! Our curiosity in these times can take us down some amazing new paths, if we just let our imaginations open us up into what could be.
Have you noticed that during this quiet time in winter, you have the wish to burrow in and just be still? I know I do! Yet, there are so many pathways to explore, and opening myself up to these pathways as I write the Creation Exercises is a beautiful way to spend a winter’s eve…or morning. By craving our curiosity and innocence, we are opening up new pathways to possibilities that aren’t even in the scope of our imagination right now. I know that I have to keep reminding myself of my words to practice what I speak here. I have to push myself to move in the direction of craving my own curiosity because sometimes this lifetime gets in the way of my innocent ‘explorer’ natures.
What if? What if we just played a bit? I realized yesterday that I have been taking myself and life way too seriously lately. I see that I had my head down with my shoulder to the grindstone, pushing hard. I saw myself in a box with just a small peephole. So…observing this, in this blog, let’s play! I am going to write a recursion to crave curiosity in this blog and see what happens. I will report my findings after I write the exercise. Here goes:
C1: Craving innocence and curiosity creates a bridge to find the rainbow. Creating a bridge to find the rainbow sustains and maintains colorful pathways leading to brand new flavors of life. Sustaining and maintaining colorful pathways leading to brand new flavors of life embodies new scents, sensations, and delicious recipes for art.
C2: Craving innocence and curiosity creates flowers, birds and trees never before seen. Creating flowers, birds and trees never before seen sustains and maintains a rich landscape of colorful forests where everything there is edible. Sustaining and maintaining a rich landscape of colorful forests where everything is edible embodies a beautiful, self-sustaining space to sit and dream in.
C3: Craving innocence and curiosity creates music coming from spheres in the sky and reverberating throughout the land. Creating music coming from spheres in the sky and reverberating throughout the land sustains and maintains all plants and animals singing along, growing brightly and all friendly and wanting to play with anyone who comes near them. Sustaining and maintaining all plants and animals singing along, growing brightly and all friendly and wanting to play with anyone who comes near them embodies a high vibratory environment pulsing with new excitement and life.

Wow…that was fun! I will say it was difficult at first…I had to really trick my brain into playing. But my being definitely feels lighter for a number of reasons. One, I gave myself permission to play and to freely express myself, and that felt good. Two, I gave myself permission to slog through the ‘stuff’ that seemed to have piled up in my brain, and as the exercise continued, I felt a flow coming back. Sometimes writing these exercises feels like it is so dense to wade through all of the language in our heads! But look, now, I am somewhat cleared for the next curiosity to unfold.
Writing a simple craving on curiosity now gives my being a new wish to explore further. Who knows what may happen now? When I focus on this aspect of life, moving forward and having what there is to have is possible and leads me to where I wish to go next.
So snuggle into winter and play a little…we all need it! Blessings to you all!
