Beyond the Perception of ‘I’
by Sahere Humm
What moves you to go out beyond the perception that life is just all about you?
In a world of separation we have been taught to always think of ‘I’, as individuals. We did that so we could fit in with the world around us. We were taught that we are just our personalities. In the past I operated from the belief I had to do it all by myself, that I had to do all the work. I would feel frustrated, overwhelmed and exhausted and I wasn’t enjoying my life as I tried to fix my personality, my ‘I’.
As I have continued to write the Creation Exercises I have notice that I don’t feel alone anymore and I am enjoying life more than I ever have. By consistently writing the Creation Exercises I have built relationships. Not only have I built a relationship with Creation, I have also built a relationship with different aspects of who I am beyond just my personality. I am remembering my true nature, my sovereign being, that doesn’t just live in the physical realms. What I also discovered is that as I know more of my uniqueness and essentialness, I have become fascinated with that aspect in others. Who are they as their sovereign beings and how do they interact with the So Above, So Below? As my perceptions change, I am now opening up into more of life as I move out beyond just being the ‘I’. I feel like I have started to really live life. That I am an active participant in both the physical and non- physical world around me.
Recently I was traveling through Ireland visiting sacred sites with 5 other women. One day, as a wind storm was blowing through, we sat around our lunch in a local pub and shared with each other who we were as sovereign beings. For some of us it was the first time we have voiced this to others. This was very empowering to all of us. We were getting to know each person beyond just their personality. Each of us were paying attention to something difference. We could really experience the uniqueness of the others and how essential they were to life itself. From that point on we began sharing what each person experienced at the different sites we visited because we knew it was essential to create a larger picture and we were each able to now include more than if it had just been a personal experience. Life itself was fuller.
We are in the process of remembering a world of unity that once existed. As we remember, we shift our perceptions of the world around us. We start moving out of the ‘I’ and start including more. We start including not only the concerns of humanity, we include the concerns of our precious planet earth and all those who reside upon her.
Are you living the life you were meant to live that is animated and pulsating with aliveness?
