In Tools to Thrive we have been unpacking different words and topics, seeing how they are interactive, interrelated and interdependent to the Principles of Unity and our sentient intelligence. On the next Tools to Thrive we have chosen to unpack embodiment. What does embodiment mean and why would you even want to do that?
When you unpack a word you are animating the word and giving it life. As you explore what a word means to you, you are sculpting a new mind, creating new perceptions and you begin living in a relationship with a word rather than it being just an empty word that you found you keep saying without giving it life. The part of the mind that you are working to mature is the sentient part, which is the relational part. Do you have a relationship with the word ‘embodiment’?
To me embodiment means Spirit and flesh are living as one operating system. It is the metapoint of the cosmos and the earth. Without us being in physical form, the earth could not survive. It is how the earth communicates to Creation. We are made of the same elements as the earth and we are capable of embodying our Nature of Being in our physical form as one system. This combination is what allow us to be the metapoint of the earth and the cosmos. This is why Tantra keeps saying, embodiment is a cellular event.
Recently I got to experience my body’s physical response of hearing that I needed 4 teeth pulled and extensive gum work done. I had just completed similar extensive work right before I moved to Denver almost 3 years ago and I thought I was set to go. My body was in trauma. What this experience has brought me is that even though there was a logical mind saying, this wasn’t cancer, it could have been so much worse, my body was trembling and I could not hold back the tears. Logically, the body’s response didn’t make sense to me, and yet I could not deny it either. I was aware that one of my first thoughts were, ‘I need a glass of wine to settle me down.’ How revealing was that! We are so used to when the body has a sentient intelligent response we have been trained to numb it out with drugs or alcohol so we can’t feel the response, therefore, not letting the experience pass through. Our full system is our spirit residing in a physical form and we need to honor the body for its role in the larger system. It is Creation reflecting upon itself gaining knowledge and recognition of its multi-sensory, multi-intelligent, multi-dimensional self.
Together let’s animate the word and build a relational field around the word ‘embodiment’ that is now alive and can be anchored into the physical realms. Join Elektra Porzel and myself, Sahere Hum, as we lead a discussion on unpacking Embodiment on Wed., July 18th at 5:30pmPT. Register at
